The busy world of the New York jazz community has created an environment that can be detrimental to the development and performance of a group of musicians that share a true rapport.
Saxophonist JD Allen, however, has formed and maintained an astonishing trio of young talent that shares a vision and group sound. The new recording, I Am I Am, puts JD Allen's Trio on display. Bassist Gregg August and drummer Rudy Royston provide a perfect balance to JD's impressive saxophone playing on the Trio's first outing with Sunnyside Records.
