Helena (her full name is Helena Noguera), while maintaining an ongoing modeling career, seems to be following the path of older sister Lio, a well known French pop star of the 80's. She keeps everything in the family, her husband Philippe Katerine produces and writes the music. The songs' lyrics are written by Helena and have the flavor of bossa novas and jazzy ballads, sung in Portuguese, English, and French. The arrangers also are "family", all connected to the trendy Tricatel label.

Helena's Azul is wonderfully laid-back bossa nova with subtle electronic touches and inventive arrangements. It sounds like a companion album to Bebel Gilberto's modern bossa nova classic Tanto Tempo. Helena's dusky and unaffected voice floats over the shuffling tempos like the voice of a Brazilian angel...
With any justice this record will be as hyped and as popular as the Gilberto record. It is just as good, if not better. ~ Tim Sendra, All Music Guide
