"Pianist, composer and Steinway Artist Greg Reitan has pursued a noteworthy and eclectic musical path. He was a finalist at the 1996 Hennessy Cognac Jazz Search in New York and the 1995 Great American Jazz Piano Competition.
As a composer freelancing in NYC, Greg has scored numerous network television shows, commercials and feature films. He studied classical composition at the University of Southern California and was a winner of the inaugural 2002 ASCAP Young Jazz Composer Award. Currently based in Los Angeles, Greg has been a favorite of local and international audiences. His highly anticipated Sunnyside Records debut Some Other Time was recorded over a series of afternoons in a mid-century modern, redwood and glass studio overlooking the city below. As a result of the relaxed pace of the sessions, an introspective elegance infuses this collection of standards, modern jazz masterpieces and searching, lyrical originals."
