MUSICIAN - COMPOSER - ARRANGER - PRODUCER - LECTURER

Thommy Andersson is a musician in the broadest sense and works with music in most imaginable genres as a musician, composer, arranger and producer. Based on Swedish folklore, he positions himself as a contemporary music creator with a personal expression that is documented on more than 250 releases and has played worldwide in more than 70 countries.
He is mostly involved in cross-aesthetic, innovative performances, music and performing arts projects that cross borders and genres.
Thommy works as a freelancer, but is employed part-time as associate professor at the Danish National Academy of music (SDMK).
He is thus also a researcher within his own artistic practice.
He has worked within most genres and works at the crossroads as a composer, producer and arranger for many different artists in many genres.

Musicians from Antoher Place-Part I:
examines the relationship between folklore, improvisation and score music based on the environmental diversity and cultural background of 12 musicians, and the synergy between notation and improvisation, hearing and presence in the music, which stems from the musicians' individual starting points in their own environments.

"12 Musicians from Another Place" part II examines how a deeper insight into the cultural and musical diversity of musicians can be used as the basis for a new approach for the composer to the compositional process. Based on the environmental diversity and cultural background of 12 musicians, strategic models are formulated and tested for the development of the transparent genres of open works and collaborations through dialogic artistic experiments.
